(Bridgehampton, NY – July 9, 2013) The Bridgehampton National Bank (BNB) the wholly owned subsidiary of Bridge Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: BDGE) celebrates the opening of its 23rd branch on Shelter Island with a ribbon cutting and announcement of a special collaboration with the Shelter Island Historical Society. The branch is located at 21 North Ferry Road.
"We are excited to open a branch on Shelter Island, bridging the gap between the North and South forks," President and Chief Executive Officer Kevin O'Connor said. "Shelter Island is an important market, and we look forward to becoming an integral part of the community."
As part of its efforts to support the local community, BNB will work with the Shelter Island Historical Society to restore 12 historic signs across the island. The Shelter Island branch is located at the site of the first schoolhouse and its refurbished sign was unveiled today. "We are honored to have the opportunity to creatively partner with the Historical Society, giving the community a way to look back at its history through its landmark signs. As a 100 year old institution, we understand the importance of history and tradition," added Mr. O'Connor.
Shelter Island Historical Society Executive Director Nanette Breiner-Lawrenson said, "The Society has been a customer of BNB for several years and the bank has been very generous to us in this new project to restore the historical marker signs on the island. We are thrilled and delighted to be collaborating and partnering with the opening of the bank."
The branch will be led by manager Tara Fordham. Fordham recently received the Service Award for her 15 years at BNB. She began her career as a teller and was most recently the Assistant Manager at the East Hampton branch. Her appointment to the manager position recognizes her banking and customer service skills. The branch team is supported by commercial lending officer Nancy Messer, VP.
The Shelter Island Branch is open Monday through Thursday 8:30-4:00, Friday 8:30-6:00, and Saturday 9:00-1:00. The ATM is available 24 hours a day.
